So here’s where Lauralynn Elliott and I were this past weekend.
I love this place. We didn’t have a lot of time to check out everything since we were on a business trip but the atmosphere is wonderful! Check out Lauralynn’s latest post here for her “ghostly” experience in the tapestry room.
We stayed at the Inn on Biltmore estate as well. This is a beautiful place! And everyone was so friendly and helpful.
The food was great too! I actually dragged Lauralynn to eat in a horse stall at the Stable Cafe…heehee. We had a pimento cheese dip appetizer that was out of this world. Yum!
We also ate at Cedric’s Tavern in Antler Village right next to the hotel where we stayed. I loved the atmosphere is this place and the vegetable beef soup I had was wonderful! Oh and did I mention the rolls with mustard butter? Oh my gosh!
We are planning a trip back in the Spring or Summer to see all the beautiful flowers that are all dormant right now. This was Lauralynn’s first trip to the Biltmore and I think she is looking forward to returning when we have more time to explore the whole estate.
If you are near Asheville, NC or going to be in that area sometime make sure you go and visit the Biltmore. It is truly an amazing place to take in.
I had a blast! This trip was fun, but it will be much more fun when we go back when the flowers are blooming and we have more time. We could take our husbands with us next time…nah.
Oh definitely no husbands!
This place looks amazing! What a perfect location for a weekend getaway of romance & writing! I’m going to have to tell my guy about this…
It is amazing, Tiffany! The history that goes with it is great too. There’s even a bowling alley and a full size pool in the basement of the house! Too bad they won’t let you use it. Ha!
You got her to eat in a horse stall; I am amazed! I hope you took a picture of the look on her face; priceless! LOL
Well no picture but she was a little wary when I told her where we eating lunch. 😉
Hey, it doesn’t look like a horse stall anymore!
This place looks amazing! I am always looking for places to go that are in driving distance. (Well, within 6 hours driving anyway) I need to look up the WEB Site. Is this somewhere you can stay, or just a museum-like thing.
Hey, Jennifer!
Yes you can stay at the Inn on the Biltmore estate just not in the Biltmore house itself. The Inn is quite expensive unless you get a special deal like we did but well worth the stay. Here’s the website: http://www.biltmore.com
There are plenty of places to stay outside of the Biltmore that aren’t as bad. There is a Biltmore Village outside the main gates. It’s quite and artsy community.
My favorite time to visit is Christmas because of all the lights and wonderful decorations and large Christmas trees!
I hope you get to go soon. Lauralynn and I are going back in the Spring when all the flowers are blooming. Can’t wait!
