I’m so excited to tell about this event I’m going to this year!  It’s going to be a double event!  If you are a reader and want to meet a few of your favorite authors or to discover some new favorite authors this is the place to be. 🙂  If you are an aspiring author and looking for help to make your writing all it needs to be and how to get it out to the public this is also the place to be!

Arizona Dreamin’ is more focused on readers.  Plenty of meet and greets and prizes and a book store to buy some books and get autographs.

By the way did I mention there will be sexy men there as well?  Every year they hold a Man of Our Dreams Contest in which you get to vote on your favorite man of your dreams.  They could end up on the next book cover of the next book you read!  Just like Ryan here: (Oh and I hear he will be returning this year so you can meet him if you weren’t there last year!)

When the sheriff, Jake Tyler, tells her the circumstances surrounding her grandmother’s death, she begins to wonder if there’s something strange going on at her house. When her friends come for a visit, Tara realizes they are all being hunted by something supernatural. Tara and her friends fight for their lives in this tale of magic and horror. Will any of them survive the creatures that have been brought to life by one man’s selfish purposes? Will the sheriff be able to save Tara, or will she have to depend on herself for survival? Find out in this chilling story of terror, friendship, and love.

This is a long novella of approximately 39,660 words.

Bartlett Rebooted by JJ Toner

Bartlett Rebooted by JJ Toner

JJ has released another one of his short stories from his anthology Ovolution and Other Stories.

Here’s the blurb:

A university professor gets military funding for a madcap experiment.

There’s more to this story than just what the blurb tells you.  After one of the professor’s colleagues dies in an accident he and another partner decide to “reboot” their friend’s brain for a military experiment.  This story is not all dry and boring about just this experiment.  There are several times that I had to chuckle with what ensues between the three colleagues with making this experiment work.

The cover for this story was a lot of fun to do…as you can probably see 🙂  You need to read the story to find out why this cover is “special” as JJ says on his blog:  Wild Thoughts by JJ Toner.

Happy Reading!

New Release by JJ Toner

Ooze by JJ Toner

This short story by JJ Toner is very unusual but I really enjoyed it.  It’s about the first contact between two very different species.   If you like a bit of SciFi reading and want to read a story that doesn’t take too much time you need to check this out.

This was a fun book cover to design.  It’s very simple but I think it is perfect for the story.  Sometimes simple is best!  Also JJ is so much fun to work with.  Check out his blog at:

I just finished reading Red by Kait Nolan.  This was a great book!  I’ve been waiting for this book to come out for a long time. I have to say it was worth the wait.

Ms. Nolan has a gift with storytelling. She writes a very good twist to an old fairy tale (can you guess which one? hmmm the hint is in the title 🙂 ) but at the same time it’s not just a re-telling of the tale. The characters were very believable. It is very interesting how the author lets you in on the different perspectives of the characters by switching between the main two teenage characters point of view. Don’t worry she lets you know who’s doing the talking when it switches.   Ms. Nolan does a good job of drawing you into the lives of these two teenagers and how they deal with their budding relationship and the fight for their lives of being chased by a madman on the hunt.

Ms. Nolan’s venture into the young adult genre I think has been very successful.  I hope she has another one up her sleeve in the future.

Lauralynn Elliott’s newest release, Dark Relic – Vampires’ Curse, is now available at Amazon or Smashwords.

“Libby Fox is just a regular private investigator, snooping on cheating business partners and wayward husbands. That is, until Adam Ryder walks into her office and asks her to find a missing person. Before she even gets a chance to do much investigating, it turns out that the missing person has been kidnapped to force a trade for a beautiful and dangerous artifact, and Libby’s job description changes to hostage exchange. But there is more to her client than she could possibly have realized, and Libby is drawn into a world darker than she dreamed had existed. Now she’s torn between the feelings she’s beginning to have for Adam, and the fact that he lives in a world she’s not sure she can be a part of.”

This is the first novella in The Libby Fox series.

I just finished reading the first book in Michelle DePaepe’s zombie trilogy.  I normally do not like zombie stories but this book was really good.  It had a good twist as to why people were becoming “eaters”.

If you like zombie stories then check out this book.

Eaters: The Beginning by Michelle DePaepe

After you finish this book then be on the lookout for Book 2 in the Spring – Eaters:  The Journey.

I’ve also read Ms. DePaepe’s  book The Gardener which I really enjoyed.  If you like ghostly suspense novels then check this one out.  You never know who the gardener might be. 🙂
