I’m so excited to tell about this event I’m going to this year!  It’s going to be a double event!  If you are a reader and want to meet a few of your favorite authors or to discover some new favorite authors this is the place to be. 🙂  If you are an aspiring author and looking for help to make your writing all it needs to be and how to get it out to the public this is also the place to be!

Arizona Dreamin’ is more focused on readers.  Plenty of meet and greets and prizes and a book store to buy some books and get autographs.

By the way did I mention there will be sexy men there as well?  Every year they hold a Man of Our Dreams Contest in which you get to vote on your favorite man of your dreams.  They could end up on the next book cover of the next book you read!  Just like Ryan here: (Oh and I hear he will be returning this year so you can meet him if you weren’t there last year!)

Today I’m hosting author Rachel Carrington on my blog who has a new book coming out on October 20th titled Waking Up Immortal.

Here’s a little bit about Rachel from her website:

Rachel Carrington began her career writing fantasy romances of powerful wizards and wicked witches. Since then, she has branched out into contemporary romance and romantic suspense and has had books published with Ellora’s Cave, Samhain Publishing, Red Sage Publishing, and more.

Currently, a freelance editor/writer residing in historical Charleston, South Carolina, Rachel has written non-fiction articles for Absolute Write, The Writer’s Journal, Writing for Dollars, Writer’s Magazine, and Writer’s Weekly.

Because she likes staying busy, Rachel has also taught classes for Suite 101 and for author groups regarding promoting, writing, starting your own business, and editing.

When not writing, Rachel loves to read romantic suspense (Lisa Gardner and Roxanne St. Claire are two of her favorites), rework old furniture, cross-stitch, cook, and drink lots of coffee.

So welcome, Rachel!  Tell us about your upcoming book.

Chloe Emerson, the heroine in Waking Up Immortal, discovers her immortality after she’s had a car accident. Her mother thought her heart had stopped in the ambulance so decided it was time to let her daughter in on the secret. So begins Chloe’s journey to find the man who fathered her and hopefully discover a way to change her genetics.

The book is told in first person from Chloe’s point of view. So why did I decide to use a man (Jimmy Thomas, no doubt) on the cover instead of a woman to portray the heroine? Because the story isn’t just Chloe’s, and though I certainly want the readers to be interested in what Chloe has to say, I also want them to wonder about Kier, the man who steals Chloe’s heart and shakes up her world. I want the readers to hunger to know more about him, and I thought a snapshot might pique their interest a little more.

I know some readers might be thinking every hero can’t look like Jimmy Thomas, but that’s not the point. Jimmy personifies what every hero is supposed to be—a good-looking, muscular, successful man who just looks like he could kick anyone’s butt who gets in his way.  That’s what I wanted my readers to see in Kier.

And in Book Two of the Universal Security Series, readers will get to know Kier even better for as much as Waking Up Immortal reveals Chloe’s struggles, Living Dangerously walks the reader down Kier’s path from his beginning to what may very well be his end.

Jimmy Thomas, lauralynn elliott, magic, mystery, paranormal romance, soul of a vampire, vampire

I’m so excited to reveal the latest cover I’ve been working so diligently on lately.  It has gone through many edits and changes and ooh I love that and nope don’t like that, let’s get rid of it!  Heehee, I love a challenge.  So without further ado I give you Lauralynn Elliott’s newest book cover:

So what do you think?  The story is going to be great.  I’ve had the honor of reading this one as Lauralynn in writing it (which I do most of hers..wink wink).  It has mystery, it has magic, and of course it has romance.  Even I don’t know yet how this is going to turn out because she is still writing it.  But I won’t have to wait too much longer and neither will you!  What is also exciting to me is I actually had a little bit of input into the story this time too.  I’m not telling you what though because I don’t want to give anything away.  I’ll tell you after you’ve read it. 😉

So stayed tuned to find out when the big release day is but enjoy the cover in the meantime.  I mean really, enjoy it.  Who wouldn’t want to sit and stare at the fabulous Jimmy Thomas that graces the front of this book?  He looks rather lonely doesn’t he?  I think he needs a hug.  I can fix that!

Vampires’ Curse by Lauralynn Elliott

Vampires' Curse - Libby Fox Trilogy

This is a trilogy of all of Lauralynn’s novellas in the Libby Fox series.  This was a great cover to design.  I’m thinking this is one of my favorites so far of those I have designed.

Below are descriptions from each novella in the trilogy.

Dark Relic – Vampires’ Curse

Libby Fox is just a regular private investigator, snooping on cheating business partners and wayward husbands. That is, until Adam Ryder walks into her office and asks her to find a missing person. Before she even gets a chance to do much investigating, it turns out that the missing person has been kidnapped to force a trade for a beautiful and dangerous artifact, and Libby’s job description changes to hostage exchange. But there is more to her client than she could possibly have realized, and Libby is drawn into a world darker than she dreamed had existed. Now she’s torn between the feelings she’s beginning to have for Adam, and the fact that he lives in a world she’s not sure she can be a part of.

Secrets of the Wolf

While private investigator, Libby Fox, is still trying to wrap her mind around the fact that vampires exist and that she actually has feelings for one of them, she’s drawn into yet another case where there’s more to her client that meets the eye. When Blake Harding walks into her office, hiring her to find a secret book very important to his family, Libby has no idea of the danger involved. She learns that there are things out there more dangerous than vampires as she searches for the Secrets of the Wolf.

Search for the Vampires’ Curse

The third and final novella of the Libby Fox Series, Search for the Vampires’ Curse, takes Libby, Adam, and friends from the bayous of Louisiana to the rain forest in Brazil. In this story, the search for the deadly cross introduced in book one continues. Meanwhile, Libby and Adam continue to question whether or not a relationship between them is possible. Will Libby take a chance and ignore her fears, or will she let Adam go for good? Find out the answers in the conclusion of the Libby Fox series.

If you haven’t read any of the Libby Fox series yet this is the best way to buy it!  Be sure to pick your copy at your favorite eBook seller.

I’ve done a few print covers for authors that have used CreateSpace to have print books.  Thought I would post them for your enjoyment. 🙂  Print covers take a little more time but they have been fun to create.
